Both Chuck and Glen lived in the area for quite awhile, and both did extensive research on the base and surrounding area. Neither person to my knowledge has given a reason for their leaving the area. At least not to me. My opinion is that they both may have gone as far as they could with their research and saw no further need to proceed.
