If you follow an additional link from that AW&ST article, you find an article by Bill Sweetman with a description of a High Powered Microwave (HPM) weapon that is said to be already operational on a USAF Air Combat Command UCAV.

"an offhand comment at a conference in 2006, where a US officer commented that - in the USAF - HPMs and unmanned combat air vehicles (UCAVs) were so intimately linked that in Air Combat Command, they belonged to the same office."

Take a look at the USAF provided artwork and compare the shape of the UCAV that is deploying the HPM weapon to that of the aircraft I spotted on the runway at Eareckson Air Station on Google Earth (52°42'29.93"N, 174°07'59.88"E). Same aircraft?
