Congress did vote to provide funding for an additional 60 Raptors over the current 183 number. What happens with that vote since Congress controls the purse strings ultimately?
It appears that Gates/Obama favor fast-tracking the F-35 with no apparent reductions which I don't necessarily disagree with either. It will be the backbone of American tactial airpower whether or not the F-22 gets more funding, so.
