The L.A. times stated that the test site is abandoned, when in fact I know a few electricians from the I.B.E.W. L.u. 357 who work out at the test site. It's far from abandoned. They spend alot of time underground and have to wear (dossimeters?) to make sure they don't get overexposed to radiation. I had one foreman I worked for tell me that he accidentally entered a restricted area and before he knew it security was every where. He said they came out of no where in a hurry and dead serious!! And yes he no longer works there. The test site still has stuff going on and theres a bus that drives electricians up there mon.-thur. And friday's if they are working on something that needs to get done. I understand that it takes a long time to get anything done because theres so much red tape and procedures.
