The more I look at that pic (and a bigger one I found at another forum) the more I believe it is a simple bird.

Probably a crow or grackel, flying left-to-right, appearing to be between the photog and the trees in the background rather than behind them. The glint has to be "lens flare" or possible reflections of the bird as both the crow and grackel have a shiny, reflective quality to their feathers.

Had me wondering for a minute, but, then I got my head right.
