Airborne EMP and laser use was much-discussed in the early 80's Ray Gun Administration time frame. I'm pleased to hear that EMP is, obviously, now at least in the research phase if not operational.

I'm glad that the U.S. is continuing to improve its tech advantage, whether EMP or other countermeasures.
