What's happening at DET 3?

I was running through the Lockheed jobs website to see what the folks at DET 3 may be hiring for recently. I thought I'd share three links to jobs below and some speculation based on their requirements:

1) "...working within a Combined Test Force (CTF) environment is required. Travel and remote assignments, overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work will be required."

2) "Must be comfortable with extensive time on travel, to include overtime as necessary, and functioning in remote work environments with few amenities."

3) "UAV Experience, Control Room Experience"

4) "Works with customer and flight test management to develop and field new aircraft and to develop and prove new capabilities."

5) "Approves cockpit configuration."

6) "Must have current FAA commercial single and multiengine land pilot's license..."

Speculation on above statements, below:

1) Combined Test Force (CTF) is likely set up like a standard CTF at AFFTC Edwards AFB. Work odd shifts likely means night shift and on weekends. This also confirms they unlikely fly during daylight.

2) Extensive time on travel with few amenities sounds like DET 3 is not the nicest location to stay and that engineers spend perhaps weeks on end deployed there for temporary periods.

3) They are dealing with unmanned aircraft.

4) They are developing clean sheet aircraft (rather than mods) and adding new technologies

5) Cockpit implies there are manned aircraft being tested. What would they be changing in a cockpit at the test site? Wouldn't this likely be done at the contractor's engineering facilities?

6) Multi-engine implies something has multiple engines. Why would a multi-engine support aircraft, other than a re-fueling aircraft, be used for chase?
