I had mentioned to Joerg about the time I was sitting on top of a mountain and saw a turkey vulture flying towards me with an "appendage". When it got close enough, it turned out that it had a snake dangling from it's mouth. So you are right that the food they carry can make birds look pretty strange.

In this photo, I would say a possibility is the flying bird is carrying a dead bird. The dead bird would be the lower set of wings, which look like the inverted tail of an UAV.

I got a suggestion off the list that this object could be a varient of the Gnat 750 UAV. The biggest problem calling this object a UAV is that there does not seem to be any swept wing UAV's out there.
