Something is not right about this whole thing.......the "eyewitness" comment is corny and questionable....the pic is very marginal.......microwave "heat" rays?
I still contend that of any known object in the sky, this matches up very closely with an SR-71 at altitude and distance. The contrails are weird but from your own examples that can be manipulated.
But, probably all for naught as it will be many years before we know whether or not there is anything to this pic and by then it will be old news metaphorically.
