For those who don't live in areas subjected to Earthquakes, a M 3.4 is not a major quake. Southern California has those all the time. In the 10 years I lived in SoCal, I never felt one. The only two Earthquakes I ever felt was Northridge M 6.7 in 1994 and the one at Twentynine Palms M 7.1 in 1999.

Nevada is also seismically active.
