I am not sure if you have made the run out to 51 or Rachel before, but it was worth a half day or so to me. It was all easy & smooth enough to me.
As far as making a run from TX to LV I would book the flights early - at a good rate - and wait until late to book rooms & cars. The air fare deals go away & the surplus of rooms & vehicles gives way to good deals down the stretch. Have a safe journey & a great time!!
