Regarding the cartoon logo: It it similar to the patch that used to be worn by the JANET flight crews (except that the plane on the patch was reversed, the EG&G logo was in the background, and it was in color). Glenn Campbell used to have reproductions of it for sale on his website.

I have also seen a couple other JANET patches on the web that wern't similar to the cartoon logo.
