Amateur Radio Portable Sites near Dreamland?

Anyone have any experience working DX or QRP or
anything else, HF or otherwise, from the area around
Rachel/the base? 2m SSB?

I'm thinking of parking my rover up there for
a night.

Are there any repeaters in reasonable range?

Someone told me he worked a 440 machine on
Sterling, from powerlines overlook (I
think that was his window). He claims he
worked it with an HT and half wave rub duck.

Any experience up there on the ham bands?
