I think the image on GE was taken last winter. It shows the new Hangar in an earlier stage of construction than our photos from June 2007. I believe it has been up for a while.

The "spill" NE of H-18 is interesting, though. When the image was first published there was some speculation about it being ice. Recently I had a fire fighter contact me and suggest it was foam from putting out a fire, possibly involving something that was dragged out from inside the hangar after it caught on fire.

I don't believe it is ice. There is no ice anywhere else, and no water or ice on the lakebed (as there would be after a rain). IMO, it is either residue from washing a plane, or foam from putting out a fire. Any thoughts?
