I think you missed the pointm, if not the mark.
Let me clarify. We were talking around similarities between "Area 51" and Mount Weather aka "High Point" outside of Purcellville Virginia.

The similaries:

1a."area 51" supposedly a "military" installation
under puported ties to the US Air Force, ie,
Nellis AFB

1b. "High Point" (Mount Weather) purported to be a
U. S. Army installation, albeit the only Army
personnel aboard are Senior (Field Grade or above)
U. S. Army officers.

======

2a. "area 51" external security appears to be
under control of the "Cammie Dudes" whom may
be either private security working for EG&G or
other similar security vendor agency

2b. "High Point" has an external security provided
by a DoD vendor/contractor, firms like Pinkerton,
Wackenhut, etc.

=======
3a. "area 51" internal security is presumed to be
military, and is speculated USAF Air Police.

3b. "High Point" internal security IS military:
U. S. Marines.

======

4a. "area 51" is known as having potential as an
EVAC center for high-ranking members of the
government and/or military

4b. "High Point" IS an Evac Center which PRIMARY
Command and Control Functions for high-ranking
members of the military and is part of COGS
(Continunity of Government Services) network.

======
Clarification:

No, no Army troops will be moved from Fort George G. Meade, Maryland to the Nevada site.

The only personnel I would speculate to be deployed to the Nevada site from Meade, would be someone with a high-level compartmentalized security clearance,
SCI or above. Yet most of this level staff would already have been evaucated to High Point and shaking in their booties well secured underground in the worst case scenarios.

You Army dudes would probably, at that time, have been left to "hold down the fort," i.e., left to roasted alive in the nuclear heat.

As for a field grade officer walking the perimeter of such installation, I would caution you not to hold your breath waiting for that the happen. That's why the invented air-conditioned stretch limos with full wet bars for: field grade officers and above.

Cheers!
