I would say yes and no to the cammo dudes having authority off base. Even a civilian can make an arrest in theory, so I suppose a cammo dude could do the same. But I bet when push comes to shove, the local PD will do all the paper work because the authority of a cammo dude may not hold up in court. Then again, the $600 fine for those who cross the border comes from a kangaroo court, no?

I was discussing security at Area 51 with a friend today over lunch (just your typical lunch time gab) His thinks that the cammo dude are border security only, and that there must be real air force security on the base. He suggested that the cammo dudes can't even drive much past their guard shack since they probably aren't allowed on base either. This may explain the other security nets heard over the scanner, which presumably are not cammo dudes.

Details on High Point would be appreciated.
