Just because the rocket tech isnt that good, doesnt mean they will or will not have accidents.
Look at it this way, the Ruskies and Americans have had their fair share of expensive accidents, sometimes due to incompetance.
Take Challenger for example, they knew about the O-ring trouble long before it exploded, and the various TITAN and so on....the infamous explosion a few years ago at Cape Canavaral which rained down large peices of rocket and tons of rocket fuel, destroying cars and small buildings and catching fire huge amounts of grass areas....it looked like armageddon when it happened, just after, the same type of rocket did the same, but this time over the Atlantic, similar to the Ariane 5 explosion in French guyana, with peices falling down then secondary explosions when hitting the ground.
Every country involved in the space programme has their fair share of accidents, the Chinese included..
Didnt they have a rocket lose control and crashed into a village, killing hundreds of people?
