As for the dirt/sand pile: That is a possibility. Normally I would expect the pile to be closer to the gravel pit if that is where it came from, but then, putting it where it is would give them the additional benefit of blocking the view. If anyone goes up to Tikaboo in the near future, look for changes in that area.
