Almost all of the scanners on Ebay cover the civilian air band (118-137 MHz). Not a lot of them cover the military air band (225-400 MHz). It usually says in the listing what frequency ranges are covered. I would highly recommend getting a mil. air capable scanner, if you can. It is really a lot more fun out there if you can listen to the war games over your head...
