Would the FAF (TEDDY?) be visible as a facility (transmitter) on the ground? There is a road leading to an area of disturbed ground about 3.5 miles past the southern end of the new runway, and in line with it.
Planes are handed to the tower freq. at or near the FAF. I will have to go back and listen to some of my Janet recordings to get the distance where they typically check in with Groom Tower.
