I am not convinced that the PYD beacon is at the Pyramid fix. if it is, I would trust the flight plans and common sense over direction finding techniques. The mountaineous terrain makes accurate DF'ing nearly impossible. If the beacon is where we assume that the Pyramid fix is, there is the mountain range along the east side of the NTS in the way, and then Papoose Mountain. Between these two, I would expect the potential for a fairly large error.
