Access to Tikaboo is limited due to weather from late October until April, especially if you have never done the hike. If you want to do Tikaboo I would suggest to wait until late April or early May. Especially if you plan on camping at the top. It gets VERY cold there at night.

For skywatching in Tikaboo Valley try to pick a moonless night. There is a greater chance for a test flight out of the base on moonless nights. Even in the valley it gets very cold at night. If you go before the end of April, bring warm clothes for the night.
