No offense but that picture is an obvious fake (or more to the point, an artist's rendition of what happened that night).

The spotlights should continue past their convergence point (behind the ship, if you will) as in the image provided in the link.

And if you look at the different beams, their blurriness defies the laws of physics. For example, the third one from the right is super sharp, even though it appears to be coming from afar, while the rightmost (coming from close to the photographer) beam is blurry.
