Here is info from an old article in the RJ about Nellis fatals.
I don't know if the particular crash you're interested in
was a fatal. At least this gives you dates to check:

January 1981 -- Three airmen were killed when an F-15
Eagle and an F-5E Tiger II collided during a mock
aerial combat exercise on the Nellis range 20 miles
north of Moapa. (I believe this was on the west slopes
of the Mormon Mts.)

August 24, 1984 -- A Nellis pilot was killed when his
F-5E aircraft crashed during a routine training mission
on the Nellis range.
