There are situtuations when visually obscuring an asset could be useful, easily maintained, and affordable.

Think forward units, urban areas, and small UAVs, personnel, etc.

It could be possible to project "camouflage" onto the asset based upon simple video detailing it's surroundings transmitted to a portable ground station. i.e., an asset is positioned in front of a brick wall, and the ground station projects that image over the object.

It would not maintain steatlh in a radar or thermal imaging environment, but could work in a situtation that requires fooling only human eyes.
