I don't have money to burn either but my job with the airlines had me flying between Denver and San Francisco a lot. Occasionally I was able to ride in the cockpit where the windows are better and the pilots would point out the airfields that aren't there. Good luck on finding something. You never know--maybe everyone else has given up and you'll be the one to find something new.
