One interesting thing is the Russians get to visit the San Francisco Nike site (SF88) once a year just to insure the base is not active, i.e. the missiles are functional. I believe SALT lead to the NIKE shutdown. The treaty leaves on similar missile site in Russia as a museum.

Next time I take the tour I'll ask about using the Nike against another missile. That wasn't the mission I was told by the guide who used to work at the base.
