Is the heat tab trioxane fuel? If so, this is similar to Esbit. I've bought Esbit, Stansport and the military stuff and it all seems to burn the same. However, a 3 inch bar of trioxane is quite a bit of fuel for 40 cents.
If anyone really cares, Esbit is methenamine and Stansport is hexamethylenetetramine. Plenty of info on the net. Though I have a camping stove, I bring some of these tablets to help get camp fires going.
