Excellent plane. A Neptune called 'Truculent Turtle' (no joke) held the all time long distance flight record (from Perth in Western Australia, to Columbus, Ohio - 11,235 miles) for over 15 years from 1947 to 1962, and it took a stripped down B-52 to beat it.

The Orion is also a superb aircraft, with an immensely strong airframe, good range, a 12+ hour loiter capability, and a dash speed of 420+ knots! It's so good in fact, that the USN and other operators worldwide are finding it difficult to find anything to replace it, so they're upgrading or rebuilding existing airframes so that they may soldier on for another 20+ years.

Lockheed sure has built some great planes! Don't even get me started on the Constellation, U-2, Blackbird...
