I think wandering the NTS on foot without detection would be possible. But as you get close to a real asset, the level of threat protection surely increases.

If you scan the NTS trunk system, those driving around the range need to inform "bird dog" that they are going to trip an alarm. One assumes if you don't radio that you are going to trip an alarm, the protection forces will show up. The NTS has their own helicopter force.

Even though the NTS has 10 linked trunk radio systems, there are spots so remote on the range that they have to resort to satellite phones. I'm sure these spots are not alarmed.
