I'm not sure about DRMS. The military in theory has isolated its own networks from the WWW. Now they may have servers dedicated to the public, but their critical information are on different computers. This DRMS may be the bridge from the public network to the Nellis public server.

I known a guy who is a CNI (certified network instructor). He explained that the routers have translation tables in them to keep you from figuring out the physical layout of the network.

These Russian hackers you read about (concerning Microsoft) obviously had to do some real homework to get into a particular computer to get their data, considering they had to get past the translation table and probably a few firewalls.
