Yes, there is a certain overlap in the segments, but you end up with about 12-13 foot of panorama if you paste all three segments together.

dpi is the print quality. Most posters are 72 or 150 dpi. At 72 dpi the poster would be twice the size, but less print quality. It seems 150 dpi is a good value to go with.
