I see the diamond listed on the aero chart and on the
250 topo as "target". I wonder if USGS and other map
makers "guess" at man made shapes like that diamond
and call it "target" since it's in a target range.
OTOH, I guess that when that area was an active
bombing range, the AF may have been more willing
to locate targets for map makers.

What's the story on that whole Area 62 target area
these days?

Now, no longer an active range, just a buffer zone?
And, of course, flight training area for BL's
Sport Model.
