I was aware of most of the history, but I had never really seen any reference to the smaller North Base runway being used. Although, I never knew the North base was the original Muroc field location. I also hadn't realized that the Redhats had operated out of there.

I also didn't realize the Bombcats had operated out of there, I would have thought they flew from China Lake. They must have needed the test facilites at Edwards?

BTW, according to your source, was Dave Ferguson still Air Force at the time, or was he with L-M then? Not that it matters, I was just curious.
