I forgot to mention a couple things about the sighting which may calrify things for the doubting thomases out there.
1. We observed the craft with a 6X monocular that I always carry in the car. Wish I could ahve said the same for my digital camera

2. It was an extremely clear night and we were in a realtively city-light free place so it was very easy to see the object against a night sky.

3. I have monitored and watched U-2s fly over Amarillo on many occasions and I would say it was at lewast as high as any U-2s/TR-1s I have seen.

4. Altitude was an estimation. Sorry, no radar with me at teh time.

5. This sighting report is purely anecdotle in nature so you either believe it or you don't. Since I had no physical means to document the sighting it's unprovable and not worth much more than FYI.
