Right now for my hand held I am using a pro-26. From 179.7500 to 215.7500 it steps 6.0 mhz. From 216.0000 to 224.9950 it steps 5.0 khz. From 225.0000 to 399.9875 it steps 12.5 khz. I had a pro-43 and find this better for my use. I always take this one when I travel into the area and use it with a 30in. magnet mount antenna from rat shack. It seems to pick up more hits than the 43 did, and Iam really happy with it. At home in Phoenix ive got a 2052 trunk tracker with a 30 in. antenna and can hear Davis Monthan in Tucson 100 miles away if everything is right. Iam somewhat familiar with Cedar City but dont know how high you'd have to go with the antenna to get optimal reception. I think Garys right if you have the funds try for the Yupiteru. Last time I saw they were on ebay for $150.00 to $175.00. Dont know what the going price would be now. Hope this helps
