I used to wear David Clarks at airshows so I could hear the scanner above the noise and to prevent jet noise from damaging my hearing. Since 9/11, most of the air shows have no backpack rules, so I switched to Etymotics, which take up less space in my photo fanny pack. They are much more compact and comfortable. http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er6-ifu.aspx Getting back to the Davis Clark headphones, they do help if you are listening to noisey communications.
