A trip to the holy land pays for more than a few scanners!

The Global Hawk flys autonomously (sp) on a programmed path, but there still is a "pilot". The pilot talks to ATC on the normal frequencies for the area. What ATC doesn't know is that the voice he hears is some guy at a control center. The control center talks to the Global Hawk via satellite over a digital channel using PCM audio.

It is still not clear to me how much control the pilot has over the GH. I know the self-destruct mode has been removed since someone crashed a GH by giving this code from a control station not knowing a GH was in the air.
