Below is a copy of an update that we just sent out to the Memorial Day Campout mailing list. If you are planning to attend the campout, please take a moment to sign up at the attached link. That way you will receive the latest news on the campout in your email. Future list mails will not be posted here. --- As the date for our Area 51 Memorial Day Campout rapidly approaches, we ask you today to update your record at http://www.dreamlandresort.com/campout_poll.html This will help us plan the event. Please be sure to use the same email address that you used to subscribe originally (the address at which you received this email). Due to the huge interest in the event, and in compliance with BLM stipulations, we have to ask everyone to respect a few basic rules that will make the event more enjoyable for everyone: - Please park your car along the right (north) side of Groom Lake Road, as far as possible off the road. Do not park on the south side of Groom Lake Road Thank you all for helping us make this a fun event for everyone. - No ATV's or dirt bikes at the event camp site
- Camping space is limited; large groups and people with large campers and RV's will have to use alternate camp sites (see below)
- Please respect the land. Do not drive off established dirt roads and try not to damage the vegetation
- Your participation is at your own risk. You are responsible for knowing the boundary of the restricted area, and the rules in the area. You should have some experience with camping in the desert
- Except for portable toilets, no facilities or services are provided. Bring your own tent, food, water, BBQ etc. And PLEASE, clean up your camp site when you leave
- Note that there is no cell phone coverage in the area. The nearest town is an hour drive away
