Yes commercial operations fail, and most often they fail horribly well. But then again, we aren't paying taxes to those corparations either.
So if the military fails with OUR TAXDOLLARS then someone must be blamed. We don't want to see our money WASTED. We understand if no one was to blame, and it almost failed or didn't preform well due to something outside the grasp of the government... that's okay. But when someone screws up, bad. Then it's our money being thrown out the window. Money that could have fed starving children. Money for tanks, raises in our troops salaries, and other equipment.
