From my own experience with long time exposures, the extra-fuzyness in the contrail could easily be from its expansion as it disperses in the atmosphere and is carried by the wind a little bit. No reason to think it's anything special, in my opinion. Kris- how much telephoto were you using? The contrail does look a little bit larger than usual, in the context of the photo.
