What is this in this picture?

the other night...in the photo near the pine tree is a series of dots, all in a very straight line. Any clues what caused it?

My best guess, and its only a guess, is that a meteor went through the frame during the exposure. With the long exposure the camera scanned the CCD a bunch of times. Each time the camera came across the meteor during the scan, it recorded a bright dot. I don't really have a clue, but this is my best guess, what do you think?

Exposure time is 16 Seconds
FStop is 4.0
Focal Length is 14.6mm
