Hi Jesse,

If you click on Map on the Google maps page, you'll see that he airport is Indian Springs. The area just to the north of rt. 95 is restricted area, so you would be unlikely to get very far before you get busted.

Heading north from Indian Springs, the road appears to peter out at the base of the hills. The 250k topo. maps show it continuing, but the 24k and 100k series don't. I don't see any evidence of it going into the hills, at least not anything passable, unless you're invading by donkey.

On the other (Groom) side, the road does appear again to end abruptly, although the 24k topo. maps show it going a little further.

Even if you could make it past security over the hills, you're still over 20 miles from Groom with a lot of wide open desert in between.

One thing to keep in mind is that in the desert, roads that were used a loooong time ago have a habit of not going away :-)
