It might be useful to ask someone at the Inn about which roads to use. The maps really don't indicate the conditions of the roads. When I drove around there, some were really good and some were a joke. I drove the stretch from Bald Mountain to just about those mines. I think you get close to the border because I had cammo dudes shadow me on the ET highway. At some point I must have tripped a sensor.

Due to erosion from the heavier than usual rains, I've run into roads that are washed out. A one point the camo dudes were trying to get past me in order to snoop from their side of the border. They nearly ditched their truck at a spot where the road was washed out. I guess it didn't occur to them that there was a reason I wasn't parked further down the road.
