If there was a desire to fake a photo, it certainly wouldn't be with historic planes and pyrotechnics. ;-)

One of the days of the airshow had some strange weather. Part of the sky was clear, and parts had heavy overcast. You really can't interpret the shadows in a photograph without knowing the lighting.
