A lot of the larger aircraft seem to fly a "short pattern" and fly north basically following hwy 70 to the Butte county line. They then turn east for a few miles before turning south onto final.

The last turn is generally made right over my place. Essentially, it is a big U-turn. Looking at the charts, the pattern should actually be flown with that turn about 5 miles north of where I am. There are a couple of waypoints called out that would place it there.

Lately, it seems that more flights are flying a "straight-in" approach from the Oroville vicinity. There aren't as many large aicraft these days, though.
