I think you would get less wind, but the panning wouldn't be very smooth. It would be harder to put the images together into the panoramic.

I've thought about getting two extra tripod legs and then somehow setting them up so you could "drop anchor" once the telescope was aimed in the right spot.

Reflectors are much less prone to wind than refractors since they have a smaller profile.

Dave likes to build stuff. Maybe we can get him to build a hut on top of Tikaboo. Or we could air drop a dome
