I wouldn't say Groom and Dugway are "linked" but I wouldn't be surprised if Dugway is used for some classified aircraft testing since it is located near the largest overland supersonic corridor in America. I first thought of this about three years ago when flying in MSFS. I noticed there was a very long runway in the middle of the Dugway proving grounds and thought it would be a great place to test aircraft from, especially since the area on the heading of the runway is relatively unobstructed for some distance, especially to the northwest.

Also, I don't think it is an accident that the last time the donuts on a rope contriails were spotted (Last year or the year before) was near Salt Lake City and it was a dual contrail as if powered by a twin donuts on a rope propulsion system. Of course, that's just MHO, anyway.
