Campout at the Cookout

For those of you that have been inquiring about camping in the area for the 50th Anniversary Cookout and have never been there before, here is some info and photos that may help.
The area lends itself to primative camping. Their are no facilities available. The topography is varied from dead flat desert to mountains and summits. The vegetation is mostly joshua trees and cactus. As long as you are outside the border you may camp anywhere you feel comfortable. Rachel is at 5000ft. and should be comfortable temperature wise. I have included a link to the weather station below and you can follow the temps as we get closer to the date. As their are no facilities please pack out anything that you brought in. For people that may have trailers or motorhomes and wish to hook up, the Quik Pic in Rachel may have some trailer spaces available for rent. Talk to Fay or Jolene at (775-729-2529). Fires are permitted, and their is a really nice grocery store for all your bbq and ice needs behind the Chevron in Alamo. As an aside I have camped in many places in the area and have never had a hint of any kind of trouble. The links are below and if you have any further questions please post them to the forum and we will answer them as fast as we can
