I was at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the NASCAR race a few weekends ago. They had a B1 do a flyover.....pretty cool and loud, but nothing unusual. About 5-10 minutes later, the B1 comes screaming over my shoulder, scared the piss outta me since you can't hear it until its right on you. This SOB is wide open and as it passes over the track, a blue flash of light encircles the B1. Its almost like a bolt of lightning, but it lasts a couple seconds and is only around the plane. What causes that effect? Was he hitting supersonic speed? Just curious.
